Combining nature – both human and environmental – this piece visualizes the route of the Boston Marathon and the landmarks encountered from start to finish. A native bird common to its region is indicative of each of the 8 towns that the Marathon passes. A rainbow of foliage dots the spaces in between, symbolizing the diversity of our communities that cheer the runners on.
